Amanda Mowbray is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping clients navigate difficult situations. Amanda earned a B.S. in Psychology and a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Arizona State University. Amanda has specialized training in couples and parent-child issues. She values the importance of relationships and understands the difficulty which can be associated with beginning therapy; earning trust and creating rapport which she feels are imperative, as well as the outcome. Amanda’s warmth and sincerity help her clients to feel comfortable as they become active participants in therapy. Her client’s report she is, “so easy to talk to,” and “you genuinely care about us and our relationship.” Amanda’s approach balances empathy with authenticity, humor, and accountability. Amanda uses an eclectic approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Principles, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, to establish unique treatment goals for each client. Amanda will introduce new communication strategies, tools to interrupt unhelpful patterns, and increase emotional closeness. Amanda spends her free time hiking throughout the state with her husband, enjoying nonfiction novels, and watching 90’s sitcoms.
